Speak it out

What is your vision? What is your dream? ... Tell someone ... Speaking it out causes a shift!

Write the Vision

The New Year is almost here ...

What do you want to do? where do you want to go? what do you want to achieve?  what is your dream?

Write the vision ...

Its a first concrete step to making dreams become a reality ...

It is a visual reminder of what you want to do, where you want to go ...

Growing up in the Shetland Islands, in the far north of Scotland, I always had a desire to travel and see the world ... In my early twenties I started to take my first steps towards making this dream a reality ... I started my research and wrote off for more information.

I vividly remember receiving in the mail a beautiful fold-out panoramic poster of the coast of Australia ... I can still see it now with the turquoise waters, crashing waves and miles of white sandy beaches.

I took the poster, and put it on my wall ...

Every day I saw it ...

I kept the dream in front of me ...

I kept the vision before my eyes ...

Very soon the vision became a reality, and I was on my way to Australia ... and on my way to start to travel and see the world ...

It starts with writing the vision ...

With getting it before your eyes ...

And keeping it before your eyes ...

Write the vision ...

Let this be the year of dreams becoming a reality for all of us ...

Church

People change many things with the change in season ... their clothes, their jackets, even their car tires ... but surely not their church...

People can view church 'shopping' or church 'hopping' in the same way they shop for clothes ... browsing here and there but committed nowhere.  But that's not God's heart.  His heart is that we are planted, that we are rooted, and that we grow.  And that we love one another.  That we know one another, and allow ourselves to be known.

Here's to raising up generations of church-lifers!

Everything We Need

As I drove, I felt a verse come to me, surround me actually ...  "everything we need pertaining to life and godliness" ...

When I parked the car, I looked it up in full.

"His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence". 2 Peter 1:3

He gives us everything we need ... it has already been granted to us ... that means there is no lack... there is everything ... every thing that we need ... whatever it is ...

... wisdom ...   knowledge ... revelation ...

.... peace ... joy ....   provision ...

... ability ... anointing ... favour ....

... whatever ... we  ... need ...

Lord I thank you, it is so comforting to know that You give us everything we need ... that we lack nothing ...  it is already ours ...

Lord, I thank you for the new gifts that You bring when we need them, and also for things that you bring to our remembrance that You have already deposited in each one of us ...

Lord, I ask that You would let that truly sink in for each one of us, that we have everything we need, that we lack nothing, you have already taken care of everything ...

With a grateful heart, giving You thanks Lord, and giving You praise ... amen ...

I keep getting this verse ...

I keep getting this verse:

“When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” Proverbs 16:7

Yowza! I’m sure there are times when we don’t even want to live at peace with our enemies...

But it is the heart of the Lord for us to live at peace with one another ...

“ ... Love one another ...”  John 13:34

“ ... Forgive one another ... Ephesians 4:32

“ ... Encourage one another ... “   1 Thessalonians 5:11

“ ... Live at peace with everyone ... “   Romans 12:18

It was the “He” in the verse that particularly caught my attention ...

He ... God our Father ... it is He who brings about that peace, that reconciliation ...

It is the heart of The Father for all His kids to get along ... to live at peace with one another ... so much so ... that He is willing “to make even our enemies to be at peace with us” ...

“He” doing it speaks to me of our wonderful Father doing a sovereign work ...  He Himself bringing it to pass ...

Lord, I ask, that for each one of us ...

That our ways would be pleasing to you ...

And that You would make even our enemies to be at peace with us ...

Lord, I ask for ... and call forth ...  that sovereign move of God ... for reconciliation ... for each one of us, in the name of Jesus ...  Amen.
